SWOPS® History
It was in 1972 when Rod, at sixteen years of age, started an apprenticeship as a Jeweller. Since then Rod has been making outstanding jewellery. Rod met his wife to be, Colleen in 1981 when they both worked in the same jewellery store. They married the next year. What does this have to do with SWOPS® earrings and pendants? Please read on...
At the end of 2008 Colleen (an avid wearer and collector of Pandora beads) asked Rod to make a set of earrings that she could put the beads and charms off her Pandora bracelet onto. Colleen wanted earrings that could have the beads and charms swapped around so she could change them depending on the colour of her outfits. She also needed to be able to change the beads and charms quickly and easily. Rod came up with the idea of 'SWOPS® and Colleen was happy. Friends saw Colleens' SWOPS® and the rest is history. Rod, Colleen and their son Shaun make SWOPS® in their workshop in Cairns, Australia. SWOPS® is 100% Australian made and owned.
